Maybe she thought her life was in danger; maybe she actually thought they were parked and it was safe to get out. Either way, the police arrested a Texas man for felony DWI after his wife bailed from the SUV he was driving.
According to the Action 4 News report, the man's wife may have been seen jumping out of the vehicle and hitting the road, where she lay unmoving. She was taken to the hospital by paramedics. The report does not address the woman's medical condition.
Shortly after the incident, the police found the man "a few apartments down the street," presumably inside his vehicle. The police then arrested him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
As Action 4 News reports, the man has three prior DWIs, making the nature of this fourth offense more serious. In Texas, repeat DWI is usually a felony-level charge, with the potential for serious consequences ranging from significant jail time to long-term driver's license suspension.
