False Statement Regarding Child Custody Determination Made in Foreign Country
Chapter 37 of the Texas Penal Code defines offenses relating to perjury and other falsification.
A person commits an offense if the person knowingly makes or causes to be made a false statement relating to a child custody determination made in a foreign country during a hearing held under Chapter 152 or Subchapter I, Chapter 153, Family Code.
An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree.
Punishment Range
Third Degree Felony
- Imprisonment in the institutional division for not more than 10 years or less than two years
- In addition to imprisonment, may receive a fine not to exceed $10,000
