Preventing Execution of Civil Process

Chapter 38 of the Texas Penal Code defines offenses relating to the obstruction of governmental operation.

“Preventing Execution of Civil Process”, as per § 38.17 of the Texas Penal Code, occurs when a person intentionally or knowingly by words or physical action prevents the execution of any process in a civil cause.

An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.
